Outstanding, brass and iron sleigh bed that was made during the Victorian times. This wonderful bed was made by the prestigious company called Winfield, and they were the most highly thought of bed manufacturers during these times. This bed is an original king size - which makes it rarer than most kingsize beds.
 
The frame has large cast brass sections on the corner posts, the original Winfield plaque and also the cast brass English rose design on the head and foot end.
 
The frame has been finished in a very dark anthracite grey colour - almost black.  The brass has been polished but not lacquered, so over time will dull naturally and obtain a lovely patina.
The bedframe comes complete with a fabric covered firm bed base which is in two parts (so easy to get up the stairs) and the frame will accept a standard king size mattress.
