This is an exceptional brass and iron bed that was manufactured by Winfield of Birmingham around 1870. The frame is an original 5’ width (king size). The frame has been fully restored.
 
Winfield made a lot of their bed frames with brass foot ends and then simple iron head boards. The highly decorative brass work would have been stamped and then rolled to make the corner posts and the decorative down bars.
 
The frame exudes quality and craftsmanship and even has a RH Winfield brass plaque on the foot end.
 
The foot end is curved to add even more to the aesthetics of the frame. The mattress will have to be shaped to fit this bed which we can carry out for you.
 
Comes complete with a bespoke solid base.
